Lee C. Hansen
Lee is a fanatical fan and participant in the sport of lacrosse, having played the sport since 4th grade in Connecticut and going on to play at Deerfield Academy and division one at Bucknell University for the legend Sid Jamieson. He gravitated to playing defense almost immediately but particularly loved playing man-down D. Lee is on the Board of Riptide but prefers to spend his time on the sidelines coaching and inspiring the right technique and decision-making. He has coached the Riptide U12A and U11A teams as well as our inaugural U7/U8 group of boys. Lee has also coached the Bay Area AllWest Elite squad. Lee is married and the father of three passionate, budding lacrosse players.
Coach Langkammerer is a Bay Area native and graduate of St. Ignatius College Prep, class of 2001. While at SI, coach Langkammerer helped the program earn 3 consecutive State Championships (99-01) while earning all-league honors. Recruited to Salisbury University, he would play there for nearly two years before returning to California to help his father fight cancer. He finished his collegiate career at Sonoma State where he helped lead the team to a National Championship appearance and a WCLL title in addition to all-tournament team honors. Coach continues playing today for the Olympic Club here in San Francisco. Peter brings considerable coaching experience having served as assistant head coach at UC Berkeley for four years, head coach at University high school for two years and is going on his fourth season on the staff at St. Ignatius College Prep. When he is not coaching or with his son Whit, coach Langkammerer enjoys kitesurfing at Ocean Beach or in the Bay.
Scott fell in love with lacrosse during middle school in western New Jersey, playing at Hunterdon Central High School and later at Swarthmore College. Scott has been a coach/instructor in not only lacrosse, but also swimming and martial arts, and is excited to return to the game and help coach younger players including his son and daughter.
Kenn grew up playing lacrosse in Connecticut. He played for Loomis Chaffee School where he earned All-America honors. He then played for Williams College as both LSM and Defenseman. He was named to the Western New England All Star Team and invited to play in the North-South All Star Game. Kenn also trained as a midfielder early on, and as a goalie having attended the New England All Star Goalie Camp. Kenn is currently coaching Riptide U8.
Josh McHugh grew up in the Philadelphia area, picking up his first lacrosse stick at age 10. In high school, he earned all-state honors at The Hill School, where his team won the 1986 Pennsylvania state championship. He played attack for 4 years at Yale, helping the team reach the 1990 Final Four and the 1992 NCAA quarterfinals, earning all-Ivy honors and a spot in the 1992 North-South all-star game. After college, he played for the Philadelphia Lacrosse Club for 3 years before moving to San Francisco, where he played for Marin Lacrosse Club for 12 years. He lives in San Francisco's Cole Valley neighborhood, and surfs on weekends when he's not coaching lacrosse. His daughter and son play for Riptide u10 and u12 teams.
Erini Blakey --- Girls Director
Erini Blakey grew up on the east coast and then moved west to play lacrosse at the University of Southern California, where she captained the team during her junior and senior seasons. Erini is currently the Girls Director for Riptide, and has coached various camps, clinics and teams with the club. She's also the head girl's varsity lacrosse coach at University High School
Mike Gerrity grew up in Colorado just as lacrosse was starting its boom in the state. He picked up his first stick in a sandlot game in 8th grade and was hooked. Mike went on to play midfield for 4 years at Cherry Creek High School and earned All-State Honors in his senior year. Mike continued his career playing club lacrosse at the University of Pennsylvania.
In 2008, Mike was thrilled to pick up a stick again to teach the game to his two sons and daughter . Since then Mike has coached at every age group and level for both boys and girls game. Mike focuses on teaching lacrosse basics, having fun and sharing his passion for the game. Mike currently serves as President of the Riptide Lacrosse Club. Mike has coached at the girls u14 level for several years and in 2018, his Riptide Black team went undefeated and won the NCJLA championship.
Colin grew up in Ridgewood, NJ and played attack on the school’s first state championship team in 1990. Colin continued his playing career at Washington and Lee University, where he was selected captain and earned all-league and All-America honors. Colin has coached lacrosse at the youth level and brought his enthusiasm to the Riptide in 2016. Colin is in wealth management and lives in San Francisco his wife and two children.
As a native Californian, Sura has been involved in lacrosse for 11 years including collegiate experience at UCSB and has been coaching with the Riptide since 2014. She enjoys lawn games, backpacking, and all forms of competition and currently works as a Marketing Manager.
Brian grew up in Lake Forest, Illinois and attended Saint Louis University. Has been involved in lacrosse for over 20 years and is one of the founding members of the lacrosse program at Loyola Academy in Wilmette, IL. The program at Loyola has found great success with multiple state titles for both the boys and girls programs. Brian started coaching with the Riptide in 2017. He is a Creative Director and enjoys his family, the outdoors and sports. Both of his daughters play Riptide U12 and U14 Lacrosse.
